Everything here is handmade and a one-off.
Most of my works contain some reclaimed materials. The glass will be a mixture of new and recovered glass. The normal characteristics of stained glass include indents, bubbles, roller marks and colour and texture variations. These add to the beauty and make the refracted images created even more intriguing.
I tend to do unique and different things with my materials. I have spent a lot of time and energy ensuring the final product will stand the test of time. Please note that glass is fragile (can break), the solder lines contain lead (keep away from very young children and wash your hands after handling). The glass can be wiped clean and a car polish like carnuba wax or Pledge spray can be used to polish it up if necessary. The timber has been rubbed with a mix of bees wax and oil. Over time it could benefit from another similar rub, especially if it gets a lot of sun.

Inspired by the Boulder Bank Lighthouse, Nelson. This is designed to be wall-hung but could sit on a horizontal surface if supported. I could modify the frame to take a couple of screws down through base. It could also be modified to hang in a window space..
The glass looks amazing lit or unlit. The cord can be removed if leaving unlit.

The luggage label sticker on this case inspired me. It is for the Inter-Islander journey between Christchurch and Wellington. The Rangatira was one of the last ships to do this route.
